As the very first recipe of the blog I would like to share this yummy beef stew which is absolutely one of my favourites.
Here we go ;)
Ingredients:
60g butter
60g extravirgin olive oil
300g onion, finely chopped
750g beef, cut into small cubes
750g mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsps tomato paste
1 tsp red pepper paste (optional)
1 tbsp flour
500g tomatoes, cut into small pieces
250g green pepper, cut into small pieces
Salt
Black pepper
2 cups of boiling water
Preparation:
- Chop meat into pieces.
- Saute finely chopped onions with butter ond oil until tender and lightly golden.
- Add beef and cook for about 15 minutes on medium - high heat. Stir every once in a while.
- Add mushrooms and mix. Cook for about 10 minutes on medium - high heat stirring every once in a while.
- Add tomato and pepper paste and mix well.
- Add flour and mix.
- Add chopped tomatoes and green pepper. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until tomatoes and peppers get softened a little. Stir occasionally.
- Add 2 cups of hot water. When it starts boiling reduce the heat, close with lid and cook for 1 hour on low heat. Stir occasionally.
Enjoy...
I served it accompanied with risoni pilaf, mashed potatoes and yogurt. I prepared mashed potatoes and yogurt with Thermomix.
